AI Driven Category/Supply Chain Management Tool - Global Oil & Gas Client
Role: Lead Designer & Product Creator
Scope: Discovery, Wireframing, High-Fidelity UI, Workflow Mapping, User Research & Product Strategy
Overview: A 6-month build commissioned to design a custom platform for managing category performance and supplier relationships at a global oil & gas firm.
Key part of product design across all stages: from early research and whiteboarding through to high-fidelity UI, AI logic workflows, and product rollout. This tool replaced fragmented legacy processes with one modern interface.
The result is a modern, insight-led supply chain tool that helps teams go beyond reporting—supporting planning, opportunity creation, and supplier strategy in one cohesive platform.
The platform includes:
A dashboard homepage with headline metrics: total revenue, number of countries, category growth, spend by subcategory, and revenue vs expected.
Interactive visualisations such as supplier Pareto analysis, top suppliers by spend, and subcategory breakdowns by region—filterable by business area, financial year, and location.
The ability to click into departments to explore underlying initiatives and view live status against strategic objectives.
A Create Opportunity workflow to set up new supplier relationships or cost-saving initiatives. Users can input scope, timeline, savings, countries involved, feasibility levers, and more.
An AI assistant that analyses opportunity inputs to generate key considerations, projected impact, and non-cashable benefits.
A dedicated Insights page, also powered by AI, highlighting unusual patterns (e.g. “spending in this category is 3x higher in Region A vs B”) with direct links to relevant data for further investigation.
